Using mods[edit | edit source]
Mods modify the assets of the game in order to change the appearance or behavior of the game. The Playing with mods section explains how to find and install mods for Empire of Sin.
For help with common issues when using mods, please see the Troubleshooting section.
Creating mods[edit | edit source]
The Empire of Sin Modding Tools help modders to create and deploy mods for the game. Creating a new mod describes how to install all the required tools and how to create a new mod, while the Modding example section provides a step-by-step walk through of implementing a simple mod. Deploying a mod for local testing and uploading to hosted mod services is covered in Publishing mods.
Please note that the modding tools currently support modding of text assets in the game, specifically BRScript, Lua scripts and localization files. This allows you to mod all gameplay code, configuration data, missions, conversations, displayed text, etc. in the game. We are working on supporting modding of other assets types in a future update, e.g. audio, sprites, 3d models, UI, icons, etc.
You can ask questions and chat to other modders in the #mods channel on the Empire of Sin Discord server. Read the #server-rules first to gain access to all the channels.
